My dad bought a home from a RE agent who owned the home for 10 yrs. and lied on all the disclosers now we’ve found major problems and need to get these fixed!

If a date to close a real estate deal has to be extended is a lawyer verbal agreement o.k. without paperwork?
The lawyers on the other end would not close our deal that we had on property due to a simple but stupid lawyer screw up. The lawyer and real estate agents are saying it’s o.k. we can close on Monday and not to worry because they have a verbal agreement between lawyers and agent about this. No paper work has been done but we are meeting with the lawyer Sunday, to have everything prepared for Monday morning. In the meantime, the deal ended 2 hours ago. Is the verbal agreement enough?
Business administrator to handle estate dispositions?
After handling my Dad’s estate, I’ve run into at least 3-5 other people who are in the process of dealing with their parent’s estate. This often proves very difficult due to busy careers and/or the need to be on-site (i.e., physically present) to interact with real estate professionals, appraisers and the like. Often times the process drags along for 1-3 years when it could be wrapped-up in 6-9 months.
I want to know if people think there is a demand for a so-called independent "Estate Administrator" to work with their estate lawyer and to expedite the disposition of moderately complicated estates in the $1-$10 million range (I imagine that private-banks typically deal with larger estates). If so, what do folks recommend for the hourly charge? In my view, even for a professional with solid business crednetials, it should be cheaper than an hourly rate charged by an estate lawyer ($200-$350/hour) and more than $100 per hour (plus expenses)?
I am a banker looking for an alternate career while hiring in banking is still at a stand-still.

Where should I look for a land use/real estate lawyer?
I am in the process of bidding on 17 acres (raw land). I have a lot of questions/concerns in regards to contingencies, easements, clear title, etc. I was thinking of asking my realtor for lawyer recommendations, but I thought there might be better resources. Any suggestions? Do you think a township office would have any ideas?
