My best friend Heather is living with this girl named Kim. Heather and Kim got into some sort of a fight a couple of weeks ago and Heather wants to move out because she is sick of how she is being treated. THERE WAS NO LEASE AGREEMENT!! Heather and Kim decided to have Heather pay $450 a month for rent and thats it!! Nothing else was said and nothing was written on paper or signed. Heather just got a text message stating that Kim knows she is trying to move out, she had the door locks changed and won’t let Heather have her stuff back. Is this legal? Where can I call and find out? Are there websites for AZ state laws about landlord and tenant when there is no lease agreement. Please help!!!

I know if I do the “Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure”…the Bank will send me a 1099 form and whatever was forgiven after the Home sale will be taxable income to me. What about if I stay until they tell me to leave and Forclosre the home? Am I still responsible for the difference? Can someone that really know the Arizona Real Estate Law answer these questions?
