A friend passed away last August and I am ignorant/impatient about the way the attorney (the executor) is handling the settling of the estate. He has listed my friend’s house with real estate but seems overpriced for this market. Is he obligated to accept a lower than priced offer within a certain time period? Is he billing the estate for his ’services’ as time marches on? Is he answerable to the person or persons named in the will for what seems like his dragging his feet through the process?

How long does it take to settle an estate/probate in Nassau County NY?

If you think there is a problem, go back to the probate court and petition them to review and replace him
