Transfer of OHIO real estate between two PENNSYLVANIA residents?

On May 23, 2008 / By Real Estate Law Help / In Pennsylvania-Real-Estate-Law

My grandfather-in-law and myself both reside in PA. He owns property in OHIO and has agreed to sell to me. Do we have to go to Ohio to complete this transaction, or can it be done from PA?

Contact the county recorder for the county in which the land is located, and ask what the proper procedure is. In all likelihood, you can probably have the deed signed and notarized in PA, and mail the completed deed to the county recorder to be recorded.
