Is this real estate contract void?

On March 29, 2009 / By Real Estate Law Help / In New-York-Real-Estate-Law

I live in New York and I’m wondering if anyone knows the law about this here. My grandmother signed a contract with a real estate agent in Sept. 08 to sell her place exclusively with him for a full year. She passed away in Oct. 08 and everything was left to my mother and my aunt, but it is not in their names yet.

So does this make the contract void because my grandmother has passed? I don’t understand how someone can be in contract with a deceased person..Please help!!
